Along the Lungauer TAUERN KRONE, 18 huts invite you to linger. The alpine huts offer regional and balanced meals and some also offer overnight accommodation. Depending on the location, they are open from mid June to the end of September.
Please be sure to reserve overnight accommodation in advance!
If you have any questions about the opening times of the huts, please feel free to contact the Tourismus Lungau Salzburger Land tourist association.

Currently, it is NOT possible for individuals or small groups to stay overnight at de Granglerhütte in Weißpriach, as overnigts stays are only accepted for groups of 10 people or more. Since our recommended stage plan starts and ends at the Granglerhütte, we suggest the following alternatives:
OPTION 1:
Tage the chairlift up to the Fanninghöhe (open from Juli 3th to September 7th, 2025 on Thursdays and Sundays) and hike/rung from there to the Oberhütte. Advantage: The long ascent to the Fanninghöhe is eliminated, allowing you to spend your first evening at the Oberhütte. On the second day, you will have a relatively short stage to the Giglach lakes, which you can extend by climbing the Steirische and/or Lungauer Kalkspitze. Note: Climbing the Steirische Kalkspitze requires surefootedness!
You can easily add the first section ot the original stage 1 to the final day: from Mariapfarr to the Moserkopf checkpoint, continuing to the Fanninghöhe and then back to Mariapfarr. This way, you'll complete the full circuit and won't miss a single step of the Lungauer TAUERN KRONE.
OPTION 2:
Start your tour with Stage 2 in Weißpriach and hike/rung through the picturesque Weißpriach Valley to the Giglach lakes. Possible overnight options: Giglachseehütte and Ignaz-Mattis-Hütte. With this option, Stage 1 is skipped, so not all points of the tour can be collected.
